Caving to peer pressure: A video blog

OK, so I’ve given in to the recent trend that’s apparently starting back up of doing an accent video blog. I finally figured out how to use the camera on my laptop, so you can enjoy this incredibly disjointed, shaky video of me saying various words and answering some questions. If you want to do one, too, see the instructions below and leave a link in the comments!

The Words:
Aunt, Roof, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminium, Envelope

The Questions:
1. What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
2. What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
3. What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
4. What do you call gym shoes?
5. What do you say to address a group of people?
6. What do you call the kind of spider (or spider-like creature) that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
7. What do you call your grandparents?
8. What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
9. What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
10. What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

Friends mentioned in my video who have also done this (just in case you’re curious): Lauren, Suzanne, Brandy

  1. Hehehe. Pecan. Hehehehe

  2. welcome to the vlog club 😀

    • Thanks, LBO! I’m thinking about doing another one soon, but I’m nervous about branching out into the world of unscripted vlogging!

  3. I was looking through some of your blog entries and stumbled upon this one. This is a neat idea. The funny thing is, either I’m “southern” or you are “northern”, cause the way you pronouce things and the answers to the questions were almost all the same. If I get up the courage I might do one on my blog… or on facebook. TFS!
